Finger Poking Fun

I made this finger poking game for a Service Lesson in Activity Girls; to teach about service on the this LOVE month, because when you do service is like giving someone a big hug and a kiss isn't it?
In my church I volunteer teaching girls from 8 to 11. We do activities to inspire them to be the kind of young women that Heavenly Father would have them be through lessons that invite the spirit and activities that help them to develop talents like sewing, cooking, baking, crafts of course much more.

There are a lot of tutorials out there of how to make this, so I will not bore you with too many detail, most people make this with plastic cups but I usually try to work with what I have and what I had was paper, so I made tubes much like the left over tubes from toilet paper, then did snippets at one end,  I folded them inward to create  a base and apply hot glue to adhere unto my display surface.
Because I discovered that I was short of regular rubber bands I used rainbow loom bands to keep the tissue in place, we have plenty of those, they the have the perfect stretch for this project plus they come in all kind of fun colors : )

Lastly I was not too happy with the shape of my heart and that is when I decided to fill in the spaces in between the tubes and it really helped to define the shape without having to use so many tubes, don't you think?

The girls sure had fun with this game. The tubes were filled with kisses candy and a service ideas. I also used it again and again at home with my kiddos for math fun, only all the tubes were not filled with a surprise :( but it was still fun : )

Hugs and Kisses
